Hello Families,

Welcome to the 2024 at TheirCare. It’s crazy to think that we are only two weeks into the new school’s year but already we have been up to lots of fun! 

2024 January Holiday Program

We had an amazing three weeks this January exploring the Holiday Program Theme of ‘Summer Passport’. Each day consisted of a new focus and involved many themed activities, incursions, and excursions. We were lucky enough to undertake a Firefighter incursion where the children got to dress up as firefighters and complete team-based activities. However as always, the excursions were a favourite for the children all holidays long. They thoroughly enjoyed being able to get on the bus and explore a new location/place. It was amazing to see the children act in such a respectable manner at all of our excursions, as they interacted with other TheirCare services.

Week 1 – ‘All About Me’

During Week 1 and 2 of this year, we have taken the opportunity to get to know one another more. We have also worked on building connections with our new Foundation students and Families at the service. Throughout these Weeks we worked collectively as a group to build and establish a new display within our room. For this display to come together the children, through self-reflection identified a word that they felt described them as an individual. They then took a marker and wrote this as an affirmation sentence on a coloured strand. Beside is a picture of the display thus far, it is amazing to see that the children can all find uplifting ways to describe themselves. We look forward to finishing it soon!

Sun Safety

As always entering Term 1, children must wear hats when engaging in outdoor play. Can I please ask parents and guardians that you remind your child to bring their hat over to TheirCare so that we can go outside and enjoy all the sun has to offer safely! If preferred we have a tub at the service, your child is welcome to bring a spare sun-safe hat that is named that they keep at the service and use throughout the Year! Sunscreen will be applied before going outside every day, if your child requires a particular sunscreen, please do not hesitate to let me know so that I can accommodate for this!

Final Additions

It was an absolute treat to watch your children grown over the 2023 academic year and we cannot wait to see what this next year at school brings for all of your children. We hope that the new Foundation students continue to settle into the school nicely and look forward to meeting you over the course of this year.
