Art Captains

Congratulations to our Year Six Art Captains for 2024 ‘Peter and Tom’. Our art captains are excited to lead and promote the arts across the school. Our creative superstars ‘Tom and Peter’ will assist me with running our Tuesday lunchtime art club sessions. To begin with, Tom and Peter will assist the younger students. Next term our art captains will have the opportunity to plan and run creative sessions for the students across the school to enjoy.

Art club is on Tuesdays at 11:05. Please encourage your child to come along and join in the fun.

Art Classes outside of school

We have many talented artists at St Joseph’s! I love to hear about any art making students are doing outside of school. For students who are wanting to pursue art classes outside of school, I can highly recommend the following.

The Malvern School of Art

The Melbourne Studio of Art

https://www.melbournestudioart.com.au/

Ceramiques

These two airy studios in Kew and Elsternwick offer students the opportunity to work with clay both on the wheel and hand building. Each session students select one piece for firing. Classes are both ongoing along with holiday programs. Highly recommend it, as my daughters loved it!
