Leader of Year 9 Wellbeing

Mr Peter Robertson

The first term of Year 9 has been full of fresh challenges, new experiences and exciting opportunities. The start of a new school year always brings a mix of nerves and anticipation, but everyone has quickly settled into the normal school life we know. From catching up with old friends, making new ones and meeting new teachers, 2026 is off to a good start.

One of the biggest changes this year has been the introduction of Electives. For many of us, choosing subjects based on our interests has made learning more enjoyable and engaging. Whether we are exploring our creative side in Visual Arts, experimenting in Food Technology, learning about Commerce or getting hands on in Design and Technology, our electives have given us a chance to discover what we really enjoy.

And then, there are the Assessments. A term wouldn’t be complete without assessments! As always, they’ve tested our organisation, resilience and ability to manage our time. Even though the workload has certainly stepped up, it’s also helped us balance study and life as best we can. We learn and set goals to achieve, developing skills that will prepare us for our future.

There have also been plenty of sporting opportunities this term. Weekly Sport has offered so many chances to get active, stay fit and have fun. The Swimming Carnival was a definite highlight and it was great to see everyone giving it a go and trying their best. Whether it be doing pilates in the hall with friends, or trying a sport that is outside of your comfort zone, you will always have a good time and be able to stay healthy with the best support from our teachers.
