Year 10 Mural Project Nears Completion with Whole‑School Collaboration

The 2025 Year 10 Visual Arts students were tasked to design a vibrant nine‑panel mural, inspired by the luminosity of stained‑glass windows. What began as a design project in Term Four last year has grown into a large‑scale collaborative artwork that has now involved students across Years 7–11.
The project commenced when Year 10 students developed collaborative concept designs exploring symbolic imagery, colour, and themes connected to our Catholic faith. These ideas were later combined into a unified nine‑panel composition, reflecting both individuality and cohesion. As the year drew to a close, the students began transferring their designs onto the panels and laying down the first layers of paint.
This year, the project continued with renewed energy. A small working group of students from Years 7 to 11 joined the Year 10s in bringing the artwork to life. Their involvement has made the project a truly cross‑year collaboration, strengthening connections within The Arts Learning Area and giving younger students the opportunity to develop skills in painting, teamwork, and large‑scale art production.
Now approaching completion, the mural is rich in colour, bold outlines, and intricate stained‑glass inspired details. Once installed, the artwork will stand as a lasting celebration of student creativity, collaboration, and pride in our school community.
We cannot wait to unveil the finished artwork to our community; stay tuned for the official reveal coming soon!
