A Lenten prayer:

Loving God,

As we journey through this Lenten season,

Help us to welcome your call to live as you have taught us to live.

Open our hearts to be more loving, caring and accepting of others.

Enlighten our minds, O Lord, so that we may see what needs to be done to build your kingdom here on earth.

Loving God, we are reminded of your constant presence in our lives.

Help us to be always ready to reach out to you in times of trouble and rejoice with you when times are good.

May we never lose sight of you.

Amen.

Catholic Education Week: 15-22 March

Catholic Education Week will be celebrated in Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne  from 15-22 March 2026.  This annual event is held to promote the special ethos of Catholic schools and to highlight the  great things that take place in Catholic schools everyday.

The theme for this year’s celebrations is,

Christ beside me: Walking in the footsteps of Saint Patrick”.

This year’s theme celebrates the significance of Saint Patrick, the patron saint of our local Church  in Melbourne. Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, our mother Church, is named after the saint of Ireland.

Catholic Education Week is an opportunity for all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne  to celebrate their Catholic identity, the pivotal role they play within their local community and the  strength of the sector.

Catholic education strives to make a difference in the lives of those in our schools and in the wider  community by challenging young people to live out the message of Jesus and walk the way of the  gospel to reach their full potential as compassionate, contributing, life-giving members of society.

There are 335 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne that educate around 150,000  students and employ more than 20,000 teachers and staff.

Our school is planning several activities during the week including:

  • Celebrating St Patrick's Day with a ‘touch of green’,
  • Lessons and art experiences based on the life and teachings of St Patrick.
  • Year 6 leaders attending the Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral and Concert in the Park.
  • We are celebrating Matilda Stubbs, Grace Colliver and Harper Connellan whose artworks have been selected to showcase at the Creative Arts Exhibition.
  • Our families are also decorating a shamrock each with a value that they hold dear to create a whole school community display!

All families will shortly receive their own blank shamrock to decorate with a key family value.

Thank you for supporting this whole school 'family engagement' activity!
