Principal’s Message

As we reach the end of Term One, I would like to sincerely thank our staff, families, and the wider Sacred Heart community for your continued support of our students’ learning and wellbeing. It has been a term filled with highlights—from welcoming new faces to the school to the success of the swimming carnival. I am particularly proud of our collective efforts in supporting Project Compassion during Lent, reflecting the true spirit of our community.
Throughout the season of Lent, our Year 3–6 students took the lead in our almsgiving initiatives. Taking ownership of their fundraising, they selected and organised a variety of creative events to support those in need. From the popular Zooper Dooper stalls and St. Patrick’s Day treats to the excitement of the Easter Raffle, Guessing Competitions, and the ‘Fun and Games’ fair, their energy has been truly inspiring. The Sacred Heart community raised an amazing total of $550 to donate to Caritas for Project Compassion. This is an incredible amount for such a small school, and we are incredibly proud of our students' dedication. Thank you to everyone who was able to contribute to this cause in some way.
Congratulations to Georgie, Brayden, Harry and Ellie, our PP6 Relay team who represented the Armidale Diocese at the NSWCPS Polding Swimming Championships on Wednesday. We are so proud of you. (See Sports section for all the details)
Please put the date for the Sacred Heart School Cross Country in your calendar. It will be held in Week 1 next term on Thursday 23rd April at Jubilee Oval, commencing at 9:30am. Further details will be sent out via Compass.
Finally, I wish all of our families a safe, restful, and happy Easter. It is a wonderful time to reflect and spend time with loved ones, and I hope everyone enjoys the break. We look forward to seeing everyone when school returns for students on Tuesday 21st April.
Warm regards,
Leanne Herden
Principal
