Updates and reflections

As we progress through this academic term, I would like to share some important updates and reflections for Year 9 and Year 10 students.

Year 9: Making good decisions

Continuing from our last message about the importance of integrity and honesty, we are emphasising the need for Year 9 students to make good decisions both inside and outside of the classroom. This principle is fundamental not only in academic pursuits, but also in their personal lives. I encourage Year 9s to look after their friends and to forge new, positive friendships.

Being honest in their actions and striving to give their best effort in all they do are qualities that will serve them well in life. These values help them grow and develop as individuals, building a strong foundation for their future. As they mature, it is crucial that they begin to work independently and hold themselves accountable for their actions and decisions.

Year 10: Working on ethics

While diligently working through their subject selections, this period is vital for Year 10s to develop a sound work ethic, which will be essential as they move into Year 11. I encourage Year 10s to use this final semester of 2024 to experiment with different study methods to find what works best. This preparation is key to future success.

Next week's camp

We are all excited about the upcoming Year 10 camp, which promises to be a wonderful opportunity for the students to bond, create lasting memories and enjoy some time outside of the usual school environment. Get packing!
