Anyone who walks into our beautiful Laurence Library can see from their first step across the threshold that St George’s is definitely a Lego-mad school!
This year our Lego fanatics were so keen that we had to create a second Lego club for Year 8 and 9 students. While the Year 7 club continues to work on the mammoth task of completing the Millenium Falcon, the older students have excitedly finished their first project, a space shuttle including the Hubble Telescope!
Congratulations to Finn and Jonty for their drive and passion in finishing this project. If any other Year 8 and 9 students would like to join, please come to the Library at lunch time on Tuesdays or see Mrs Allen on Level 1. We are currently wrangling a fantastic remote-control build.
At our Interhouse Athletics Carnival a couple of weeks ago, Year 8 student Sebastian took off at lightning pace with the job of roving student photographer for the day.
We love his pictures, which show so many happy faces.
Thanks, Sebastian, for all your running around on the day capturing this great event. Here is a selection of Sebastian's photographs - yet to be seen before! Check out many more now featured in the glass cabinet in the school foyer.
Congratulations to Izabella who was recently shortlisted in the Whitlam Institute’s What Matters Writing Competition. Izabella’s composition Web Connections, a reflection on her relationship with her grandfather, has made it through to the final 25 narratives in a competition that drew from and impressive array of schools throughout Australia. This is a very impressive result for Izabella and bodes well for her standing in future writing competitions.
