Kindergarten News

and Upcoming Calendar Events

Thank you so much to a past kinder Mum, Alice who is a local Paramedic for bringing the Ambulance to kinder last week. The Correa and Hakea children were interested to learn about all the equipment and tools in a an Ambulance. We learnt about the heart monitor, blood pressure machine, splints, a stethoscope bandages medicine bag and green whistle.

Alice showed us her special uniform and talked about calling 000. Learning what to do in an emergency can help save lives!

Some children had a chance to dress up in the protective gear and sit in the wheelchair. Then it was time to have a ride going up and down on the stretcher- so much fun!!

The children were allowed to sit inside the Ambulance. There were so many things to look at! Lastly Narelle sat in the Ambulance and put on the sirens and flashing lights. The kinder children drew a picture of an ambulance after the visit to reinforce our learning about 000.

It is important to connect children with their community and for them to develop an understanding of how we fit into our world.
