100 DAYS OF PREP!
One of the biggest days of our school year, Wednesday marked our Prep's 100th day of school! The joy and excitement in the air were contagious, making the day unforgettable for everyone involved. It was a perfect blend of fun and learning, showcasing just how much our Preps have grown and accomplished in these first 100 days.
Our little 100-year-olds dove into various activities, such as building towers with 100 blocks and cups, finding 100 pieces of treasure, creating necklaces with 100 beads, and playing number games. Here's to many more wonderful days of learning and celebration ahead!
Year 1 and 2 Maths Fluency
Miss Donnelly has been diligently setting up fact fluency practice for our Junior Students Fact fluency in Maths is crucial as it enables students to quickly and accurately recall basic maths facts, freeing up cognitive resources for more complex problem-solving. This skill boosts confidence and fosters a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. Strong fact fluency supports the development of higher-order thinking skills, which are essential for success in advanced math and real-world applications.
We have a fun program called 'NumBots' available through the link below or for download on Google Play and the App Store. This program aims to improve fluency in addition and subtraction within 100.

Year One
In Morphology, our Year Ones have been learning about the suffix 'ing'. They discovered how to change verbs ending in 'e' into the present tense by dropping the 'e' and adding 'ing'.
On top of establishing fluency practice, Year Ones have been exploring and making patterns in Maths.
As part of their 'help-seeking' topic in Respectful Relationships, students engaged in role-play scenarios where they acted out ways to assist others.
Year Two
In Maths our Year Twos have been exploring multiplication and repeated addition through the use of arrays.
In Topic, students investigated how materials change and explored various objects and their uses. They conducted an experiment with a balloon to observe how it expands when air is added, how pressure affects its shape and elasticity, and discussed the balloon's material properties and what happens when it can no longer hold the air.
