From the Principal's Desk...
Dear Parents and Caregivers
Welcome to Term 3! It is great to welcome some new students and families to St Helena's this semester and it is always wonderful to see all our students back ready to learn in what is shaping up to be a big Term 3. We have lots planned and I urge all our families to take the time to read through this week's eNewsletter and check out upcoming dates and events.
As we get into our teaching and learning, I ask that our families ensure that they are getting their child/ren to school on time each day so that they can be prepared, settled and ready to learn when the bell goes to commence the school day. Thanks in advance for your continued support. We always encourage communication between the home and school to support your child/ren's learning journey at St Helena's Catholic Primary School.
First Eucharist
Keep in our prayers our Year 4 students and those in our parish preparing for their First Eucharist in the coming weeks, with First Eucharist Masses on the weekends of 3 & 4 of August and 10 & 11 August.
Welcome to St Helena's Catholic Primary School
At the commencement of Term 3 we welcomed a number of new staff to our team.
Welcome back to St Helena's, Mrs Mary Tierney-Dusenberg as our Learning Support Coordinator. We also welcomed Miss Sinead McGovern as the Year 3 Numbats Teacher and Mr Scott Whiteley as the Year 5 Bandicoots Teacher for Term 3 and Miss Megan Sleap as Education Assistant in the Little Adventurers on a Tuesday and Wednesday and in Kindy Rosellas on a Monday.
25th Anniversary Celebrations
We are very much looking forward to our 25th Anniversary celebrations in Week 5 at St Helena's. Check out the 25th Anniversary page in this week's eNewsletter and RSVP if planning on attending the Mass and morning tea on the Friday 16 August. We also look forward to welcoming back the past Principals of St Helena's Catholic Primary School for our Mass and morning tea. Our Executive Director of Catholic Education, Mr Wayne Bull will also be joining us on this day. The invitation is open to all involved with St Helena's Catholic Primary School over the last 25 years.
Interschool Cross Country Team
Our Interschool Cross Country Team were great at the Interschool Cross Country on Tuesday, against 15 other Catholic Primary Schools. All our students had a real go and we are very proud of their running efforts. Thank you Mr Clarke for preparing the team and planning for the day. Thanks also to Mrs De Carvalho and Mrs Zanetti for your assistance on the day. It was great to see many of our parents there track side to support their child/ren and the SHCPS team.
Languages (Italian) Week
We are looking forward to next week's Italian Week which has been organised and coordinated by Mrs McCulloch. Grazie Signora McCulloch!
