Green and Gold Day

A big thank you to the students and teachers who supported our ‘Green and Gold Day’. It was great to see everyone participating in the mini Olympic activities. Well done to our Year 6 students who did a fantastic job leading the activities. I hope everyone is enjoying watching our Australian Olympians on their television screens each day.

Colac Division Badminton Tournament

On Friday 16th August the Colac Division Badminton Tournament will be held at the Badminton courts at the Colac Showgrounds. Our older students are currently working on their badminton skills in the PE classes. Selected students will travel by bus to this event. The bus will leave Sacred Heart at 9:00am and return at 2:00pm. Students will need to wear their sports uniform and bring along their fruit, snacks, lunch and drink bottle.

More information will be sent home via PAM for selected students.

Colac All-Girls Superkick

AFL Barwon are offering a program for girls interested in football. This program is called the Colac All-Girls Superkick. This will start on Wednesday 21st August from 4:15 – 5:15pm at the Western Oval (please see flyer on the Community page of the newsletter).

Colac Division Golf Tournament

Unfortunately School Sport Victoria (SSV) have decided to know longer be involved in golf. This is very disappointing because we have a number of students who really enjoy the game. As a division and with the support of the Colac Golf Club, we have decided to still go ahead and run a Colac Division Golf Tournament. This will take place on Friday 30th August at the Colac Golf Club. The day will commence at 9:15am and finish at 1:15pm.

This is open to all students in Year 5 and 6 who enjoy the game and would like to participate in a modified 9 course game of golf. Students who enter the tournament must have an adult to walk around the course with them. The adult responsibilities include safety, etiquette and scoring where necessary.

Please Note: We must have 1 adult to every 3 children, so you may be able to make an arrangement with friends. These helpers must have a current Working With Children Check. Interested students can collect an entry form at the school gym. The cost for the day is $5.00.

Winter Sport – Round 2

This Friday 9th August most of our Year 5 and 6 students will compete against Elliminyt Primary School in Round 2 of the Winter Sport Competition. This will take place at Elliminyt Primary School. Our students will walk to Elliminyt. They will leave school at 11:25am and return at 1:30pm. The sports offered by Elliminyt are Football, Netball, Gaga, Soccer and Nukem. Unfortunately due to our large numbers, many of our Year 5 boys have agreed with the decision to remain at school and have their own supervised football match.

Students will need to wear their sports uniform and bring along the appropriate uniform for their selected sport. Drink bottles will also be needed. Students can still have a lunch order on this day.
