Staffing for 2024

Please find below the list for staffing in 2024.

No doubt parents and community will notice some absences in the staff list:

  • Kellie Stewart - has accepted an Acting Principal role at Oakleigh PS. Congratulations to Kellie, this is thoroughly deserved and she will be a fantastic leader for their school. Kellie has had a profound impact on Jells Park PS over the past 5 years and will be missed greatly.
  • Chris Kaliviotis - has taken an opportunity over the fence at Caulfield Grammar. This is an opportunity for him to try something new and expand his horizons, so we wish him well.
  • Amy Little - has wanted a PE role for a while and has accepted a PE teaching position at Wattle View PS. Again, we wish her well as she pursues her dreams and expands her teaching skills.
  • Tahlia Holsinger - is moving to Queensland to experience teaching in a different state and a different environment. Good luck to her as she takes on this new challenge.
  • Sandy Mettrick - having been a teacher at Jells Park PS for over 20 years, Sandy is taking extended Long Service Leave for 2024. This is a well deserve break for Sandy to spend time with family, especially grand children. We wish her well.
  • Cheryl Lim – has accepted a teaching role at Avila College, back to teaching senior school maths. We thank her for her contribution this year.
  • Annie Powers – has expressed a preference to return to more flexible CRT work, so was not re-appointed to any position. We thank her for her contribution this year.

It would also be really helpful to know if any family is leaving Jells Park PS for some reason at the end of the year (other than Level 6's). Please let us know immediately. We are still getting regular enquiries for enrolling at our school and I would like to accommodate these families if possible. Earlier notice helps our planning on these matters.

Graphic Designer

I am seeking a family / community member who works in the graphic design business that would be able to assist us next year. I am looking to have some redesign work done on all our letterheads, banners, newsletter and website. There is NO intention to change the logo, but we do need a revamp on how we present some of our materials.

If you can help, please drop me a line at k.oakey@jpps.vic.edu.au or call me on 9560-6494.

Thanks,

Kevin Oakey

Principal

End of year events

The last fortnight has been a busy and thriving time at Jells Park PS. Through the wall in my office I can hear the students practising for the end of year concert and the singing sounds simply fantastic! There are many times I have had to stop work and to go into the GP room to listen to the students singing and watch them dancing, congratulating them on their effort and engagement. Last week I attended the 2024 Foundation information evening. The evening was expertly run by our Foundation team and I am sure the new families will be feeling excited and prepared for their children’s first day of school next year. Also last week I enjoyed participating in the whole school colour run. It was a great day for all, run by our dedicated parents and I know the students (and staff!) had a wonderful time getting doused in bubbles and coloured powder. Thank you to everyone involved.

The end of year is always a busy time at school and I encourage you to embrace the opportunities and celebrations in your child's learning and development.

2024

As indicated above I am leaving JPPS in 2024 to embark on a new challenge, taking an Acting Principal role at Oakleigh PS. Please know however that for the remaining 4 weeks of term my focus will remain on JPPS so please don’t hesitate to come and see me if you have the need.

Have a lovely weekend!

Kellie Stewart
