Lote

Level 3 – Animals

Level 3 students have continued learning animals’ names in Chinese, including some native Australian animals – kangaroo (dài shǔ 袋鼠) and koala (kǎo lā 考拉). We also learned about Giant Pandas in China and drew pandas with their favourite food – bamboo leaves.

Level 4 – Daily Activities and Time

Level 4 students have continued learning daily routines and how to express time in Chinese. We have applied our learning onto translating our school timetable into Chinese and creating our daily schedule using our learned vocabulary.

Level 5 – Countries

Level 5 students have learned countries and nationalities in Chinese. We have learned the Chinese name of Australia (ào dà lì yà 澳大利亚) and China (zhōng guó 中国). We have researched some famous landmarks and traditional costumes for the countries’ we learned during our LOTE sessions.

Level 6 – Culture Quest on the Great Wall of China

Level 6 students embarked on a virtual journey through the Great Wall using their laptops. There were different missions for students to complete, and as they travelled through the Great Wall they encountered the 12 Chinese Zodiac Animals and some native Chinese animals too. It had been an exciting and rewarding cultural learning experience for the students.
