Prep to Grade 2:

ZOO EXCURSION

Prep-2 Zoo Excursion

In week 6, the students in foundation, grade 1, and grade 2 headed for their excursion to Melbourne Zoo. Students have been learning about Australian animals and mini beasts in Inquisitive Minds this term and were beyond excited to get to see and learn about all of these amazing creatures in real-life.

Here are some student recounts:

Melbourne Zoo excursion

First, we saw the fluffy Koalas climbing in the trees.

Then, we saw the butterfly house. I saw the colourful butterflies.

Next, we saw the giraffes. The giraffes have long necks and big feet.

Finally, we saw the elephants. The elephants are heavy and big. They have long trunks.

The excursion was fun because I saw my favourite Australian animals.

Melbourne Zoo Excursion

First, we saw baboons at the Melbourne Zoo. They had a red bottom, they were grey, white, black and red.

Then, we saw the koalas. They were so, so cute! Then we had a koala talk, we learnt that they sleep for 20 hours a day.

Next, we saw the brown wombat. It was eating grass.

Finally, we saw the butterflies. They were so colourful and fluttering in the butterfly house.

The Amazing Zoo Excursion

On Wednesday, I went to the Melbourne zoo with my class. We went on a bus to go there. I was so excited. When we arrived, we saw the animals! My two favourites were the King cobra and the Orangutan. When we went to the butterfly house it was boiling hot. I didn’t really like the butterfly house. I was in Mrs Evans’ group. Archie and I saw this massive orangutan! We called it the King of the chunguses. I think my favourite place was the reptile house. After all of that, we had to say goodbye to the zoo and get on the bus to go to WMPS. I was so happy when I went on the amazing zoo excursion.

The Melbourne Zoo!

We went on the bus to Melbourne Zoo. Firstly, we ate brainfood. The first animals we saw were the baboons with their big red bottoms. I was with Noah, Eric, Sienna, Evelyn and Mrs Dennehy. Secondly, we saw the koalas, there were 2. Next, we went to the elephants and they were muddy.  Then, we ate. After that, we went to the “Wild Sea”. We saw seals and it was cool. Then, we went to the gorilla rainforest. Lastly, we went to the frog disco. I loved the zoo.
