THE ART OF GIVING

In giving their time and craft, the students are not only sharing a little bit of kindness but are contributing towards a brighter Christmas for those in need.

Leading up to the Christmas Market on Wednesday, December 6, a number of crafty and dedicated students have been spending their Wednesday and Thursday lunchtimes creating a variety of beautiful wares to sell on the evening. These items will be sold at the market with all proceeds going to the St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal.

In addition to the Christmas Market Makers, College students have also created pottery throughout the year to sell at the market. You can get a sneak peak of some of these glazed and special pieces by viewing the brief video and photographs below.

With great joy and skill, our very own College Librarian, Julie Villani has also crafted up an exquisite array of Christmas decorations to add to the variety of exciting products on sale. From delicate salt dough hangings (see recipe below) stamped with Nativity scenes and patterns to hand sewn heart baubles and delicately crocheted Christmas trees, Julie's creations are sure to delight.

You might need to be quick, however, because these handcrafted decorations are sure to disappear as quick as Santa up the chimney!

Why not try making some Salt Dough decorations yourself!

Following the implementation of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022, the number of student free days will increase from 12 to 14 in 2024. Under the policy Primary schools are allowed 9 student free days, Secondary schools and P-12 settings, 14 days. This is in line with the CES Ltd Policies and Procedures.
