Celebrating Student Achievement
Congratulations Anton, Matthais and Bella!
Congratulations to three of our very talented Year Six swimmers! Anton, Matthias and Bella B all graduated from Paul Sadler Swimland with Diplomas last week, which is a super impressive accomplishment for their age. In order to receive their diploma, all three students achieved:
- Sub 45 Certificate (50M freestyle)
- 200M Open Water Swim
- 200M Individual Medley
- 100M Survival Obstacle Course
- 3KM Gold Certificate
This also included displaying a mastery in all four competitive strokes, the ability to swim 50m freestyle in under 45 seconds (or equivalent), the ability to swim at least 200m in an unprotected open water environment and the ability to swim 3 kilometres non-stop!
Congratulations Bella, Matthias and Anton on your hard work and dedication to mastering such important skills. With these abilities, we may see you instructing students of your own in years to come!
Congratulations Easton!
Our Year One student Easton recently competed in the Giant Slalom at the Victorian Interschools Skiing competition. The Victorian Interschools competition is one of the largest school-based snowsports events in Australia, attracting students from schools across Victoria to compete in various skiing and snowboarding disciplines. Easton competed in the Giant Slalom, an alpine skiing event known for its combination of speed and technical precision. In the Giant Slalom, skiers race down a mountain, navigating a course set with widely spaced gates that require controlled, sweeping turns at high speeds. What an incredible feat at his age!
We couldn't wait to get the rundown from Easton about this - read what he had to say below!
How did you become interested in skiing?
My mum and dad took me skiing in 2022 and I’ve been 23 times since. I got to go skiing in Japan at the start of this year.
Can you describe the moments before your Giant Slalom started?
I had to put my poles on the other side of the starting stick and waited until they said go, then I had to crouch down low and tuck my poles in so I could go extra fast.
What were the conditions like that day?
The sun was out so that made the snow a bit slushy and the people before me dug the course up a little bit.
What was the best thing about your race?
I got to wear a bib to race in and one of the numbers on it was my lucky number ‘2’.
What was your result on the day?
73 out of 151, I was only 11 seconds behind the winner.
Has anything or anyone helped you to achieve your success?
When I go to Mt Buller I do ski school and I also go skiing fast with Daddy.
Do you have any future goals?
I want to go to the winter Olympics.
Could you give any advice to other students who are keen to try skiing?
On your first go at the snow try going on the magic carpet, and you will fall over lots but don’t give up.
Sensational effort Easton and congratulations on your impressive result! ENPS is keen to follow your journey towards those winter Olympics!
