Table Tennis Initiative

Hi! My name is Ward and I am in 3SM.

During the Olympic Games in Paris, I really enjoyed watching the athletes play the game ping pong or what you call table tennis. This is where I developed a passion towards playing ping pong myself. My dad and I were really keen to find a place to play. Then while walking with my mum I discovered a perfect place to play. The place was inside Buckley Park Tennis Club. There I began to train with my dad.

Even though I kept on losing, I dug deep in the learning pit and practised until I am good enough to compete in the Brisbane Olympics after eight years. Soon later, I had an idea to organise a ping pong tournament at school. I noticed a lot of children in Years Three and Four playing.
