CURRICULUM FOCUS
This week in Mathematics, Grade 2 students are learning to identify specific dates on a calendar.
VOCABULARY
A calendar is a tool used to keep track of time, dates, and events. It helps organise your schedule and plan ahead. Here are some basics:
Days and Months: A calendar shows the days of the week (like Monday, Tuesday, etc.) and the months of the year (like January, February, etc.). Each month is divided into weeks, and each week has seven days.
Dates: Each day on the calendar has a number that represents the date. For example, August 15 means the 15th day of August.
ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING
With your child, create a calendar and mark the important events on the calendar, like birthdays, holidays, or doctor appointments.
