On Tuesday 6 August, the Marist-Sion Shooting Team participated in the South-East Zone Championships at Frankston Australian Clay Target Club. The junior boys, Cooper Bills, Hunter McWhinney, and Flynn McConachy, started strong, each scoring 7 out of 10 in the first round. Alex McConachy stood out as our top performer, only missing two targets in the second round.
Thank you to all members who participated this year for your safe and responsible behaviour when representing our College: Cohen Dent, John Huggins, Dane Hammond, Matthew Balfour, Charlie Kilmartin, Alex McConachy, Flynn McConachy, Cooper Bills and Hunter McWhinney.
Also, many thanks to their parents who supported their involvement in this sport and who attended events when they could.
With the competition season now concluded for the year, we eagerly anticipate the 2025 season. We hope to participate in more competitions and continue to improve our skills. A podium position awaits!
Marist Sion Shooting Team – we want You!
If you are interested in joining this team speak to one of the members, Mr Keogh, Mrs Mills or Mr Hendrikse. All students are welcome (if you have a current shooting licence, your own gun and protective gear, and are a responsible and safe individual.)
In 2025, events and practice shoots will commence in Term 1 so why not become a part of this growing sport.
