Student Voice
I, Luke Hannah, have always had a passion for spreading joy to others by entertaining them with creative stories I write, telling jokes, and thrilling passion projects of mine. Personally, I believe it is important that everyone should show their ways of making the people they care about happy so each other’s days can be the brightest of them all. Believe it or not, my ultimate dream is to become an author, as I plan to write a series of teenage superhero novels and even children’s picture books for everyone to enjoy. Because I have always dedicated myself to working hard with my best effort, I’ve accomplished many noteworthy achievements that have made me the successful student I am today. For example, I once won the Short-Story Writing competition for Book Week in Year Nine with a narrative I wrote on dreaming, which was the theme for that year.
For the past few months, I have been taking on the role of directing a short film of mine for my VCE Media Studies class. This has entailed creating a 40+ page portfolio to plan the production, including writing the script and sketching the storyboards. Moreover, since Batman is one of my favourite fictional characters of all time and I have watched the 1966 TV show with Adam West in my childhood - I decided to produce an Aussie parody under the title The Adventures of Wombat-Man. The film is a five-minute comedy that follows my protagonist, Wombat-Man, helping a teenager turn his life around by allowing him to help him on one of his adventures. Therefore, the narrative covers the morals of giving others a second chance and working together to achieve a more significant outcome, which I believe everyone should value. Right here is an image of my friend Frazer Hodder, who took on the role of portraying Wombat-Man in the film.
Now that this passion project has been finished, I’m determined to continue my studies and write a few children's books here and there in my spare time to release more of my creative stories to the world. Henceforth, my next goal is to publish a story that teaches children how to be creative. If this article has inspired you to become more creative like me, I have some wisdom. For example, if you need help thinking of an idea for something great, look around yourself and see what may inspire you. In addition, it can be anything! Books, movies, your favourite sport, the people you know in real life - pretty much anything beyond YOUR imagination.
Here’s a joke to end this article with a bang; feel free to share this with your friends and family.
Why can’t you make a dinosaur omelett? Because they’re egg-stinct!
Philosophy
Undertaking VCE Units 3/4 Philosophy has been an intellectually stimulating journey that challenges students to delve deeply into fundamental questions about existence, knowledge, ethics, and logic. This level of study encourages critical thinking and rigorous analysis through engagement with complex philosophical texts and theories. Students debate profound concepts, construct well-reasoned arguments, and examine various viewpoints. Through essays, homework, and discussions, I have enhanced my analytical skills and gained a greater understanding of diverse interpretations of the world.
