Sister School Connections

On 7 August, a group of Melton Secondary College staff and students met with officials from our sister school in Japan to renew our Sister School Agreement. With interpreting from Ms McCullough, Ms Sobey and Ms Payne spoke with the principal of Itsutsuboshi Gakuen and a member of the Soja City Education Board about exchanging letters, video calls and even overseas trips to deepen the relationship between our two schools and promote intercultural understanding and friendship. VCE Japanese students then led the visitors on a tour of our school – in Japanese! The visitors were very impressed by our Rugby Academy (state champions!), our school production and the way we celebrate student success in our Junior School Assemblies. We look forward to continuing to give MSC students opportunities to engage in intercultural communication and practice their Japanese language skills.
