SA Water Incursion

As part of our Science work on water in our world, Jade from SA Water came and did a water treatment presentation in the Purple, White, and Blue classes. Students helped create a special filter out of a plastic bottle. We added cotton wool, sand, charcoal, and gravel before pouring very dirty water through. The water slowly emerged as clean water.

We also discussed how to keep our pipes clear by ensuring we are careful about what is flushed down the toilet! It was certainly an educational and enjoyable incursion.

Cooking in the White Class

The White Class has been preparing recipes connected to their literacy lessons. So far this term we have made frittata, garlic bread, guacamole, lasagna, tacos, Vegemite and cheese scrolls and pepperoni pizza. This activity offers a rich learning experience, and as a bonus, the students get to enjoy a delicious lunch!
