From the Classroom

Foundation News
What an amazing start to the year our Foundation students have had! They have settled beautifully into school routines, making new friends and embracing school life at Toolamba Primary School.
In Literacy, we have been learning about the letters S, A, T, P, I, N, and M, exploring their sounds and practicing forming them correctly. The children have been engaging in fun activities to build their early reading and writing skills. It would be a great idea to invest in a whiteboard from KMART to practice this learning. Students are very familiar with these and it’s a very safe option to practice on for the ease of erasing mistakes.
In Maths, we have been focusing on numbers 1-10, subitising, creating patterns, exploring 2D shapes, and practicing numeral formation (0-9). Hands-on activities and games have helped make learning fun and interactive.
We have also been working on being great listeners by following the 5 L’s of Listening and developing positive friendships through our Friendology program. The students are learning how to be kind, supportive peers and what it means to be part of the Toolamba Primary School community.
It’s been a fantastic start to the year, and we can’t wait for all the learning and fun ahead in Term 2!
We wish everyone a safe and happy Easter. The holidays are a perfect time to recharge relax and return ready for Term 2!
