Upcoming Club Events

RSC Aggregate #6 - Sunday. April 27th @ Aquanation

Dryland @2:45 pm / Warm-Up @3pm / Start @3:30pm / Est. finish @5:00pm

Entries for aggregate #6 2024-2025 season will open early next week.  Please read important information below (particularly the section under squad/stream event allocation) to avoid your child missing out on competing or to avoid them missing out on points.

The Club Aggregate is a series of 6 club races held over a number of Sundays throughout the swimming season. Entry is $2 ex-GST per event. Enter via Swim Central.

The focus of aggregates is 100% on fun and personal improvement.  Below is a listing of events that your swimmer can enter based on their squad level. In the background swimmers will gain points by participating in the events allocated to their squad level which will go towards the Age Aggregate Awards at the end of the season at Presentation Night (14th June 2025). Points are awarded on personal best times from past aggregates. The more your times improve from past aggregates as the season goes on, the more points you can earn. The only clincher is that swimmers need to attend at least 3 out of the six aggregates we run through the year to qualify for awards.

If earning points for awards doesn’t interest your swimmer, that’s fine, please just come along and participate in the fun! This is a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon practicing those race skills for the first, second or hundredth time! If you are new to RSC this is a great way to get to know other parents and swimmers, and for your swimmer to get comfortable with some racing in a fun and friendly atmosphere, so please come and join us.

Parents – don’t just drop your swimmers at the pool. Please come in and get involved! We are always looking for volunteers to help with time keeping on the day. It’s the best seat in the house and a great way to get involved in your swimmer’s sport. Our club relies on your volunteering.

Aggregates are fantastic, no matter what level your swimmer is… so please come along and get involved.

SQUAD/STREAM EVENT ALLOCTION

Please ONLY enter your child in the events below as per the squad/stream she/he is assigned to. Entering your child outside of these events will result in her/him being unable to swim and/or no points being recorded. You can also only enter one distance per stroke if your squad has the option of different distances.   For example, if your child’s squad has the option of either 50 Freestyle or 100m Freestyle they can do either but NOT both.  Swimmers entered outside of the two above rules will result in no swims or no points. If unsure, please check the correct events with your swimmer’s coach.

RSC Club Age Championships - May 11th @ Aquanation

We have our Club Championships coming up on the 11th of May.  An event flyer will be sent out next week, but please take some time to read through the below so you understand how the event works.

Firstly......  This event is open to ALL swimmers of ALL levels.  This includes Adult and OWM swimmers.  We have the whole pool booked out, so capacity is not a problem. Whether you're new to RSC, never attended an event, or have been around for years, this event is ideal for everyone. We have capacity for the entire club, so please come along.

You are welcome to enter any age events you like, plus the 200IM.  Please discuss if 200IM is appropriate for your swimmer with their coach before entering.

Normally to be eligible for awards at Club Champs you would have needed to attend a certain number of events through the year.  This season we have decided that ALL swimmers will be eligible to participate and win!

This year we will be awarding Lilian Rosewarne 200IM trophy, Age champions, Open Champions, plus Junior/Senior Club Champions at presentation night on the 14th June.

To be eligible for Age champion, you will need to enter and swim all four events in your age group.  Should you have an injury preventing a stroke please contact Miek directly at comps@ringwoodswimmingclub.org.au to discuss.  To be eligible for Open Club Champion you will need to enter and swim all four age events PLUS the 200IM.  Please note Junior Club Champion is 12/under and Senior is 13/over.

Once again, even if you are not interested in being eligible for age champion, please just enter a couple of events and come along.  You will have great fun anyway!

Any OWM swimmers who are Masters registered, are still encouraged to enter.  Please contact either Miek (comps@ringwoodswimmingclub.org.au) or Lesley (admin@ringwoodswimmingclub.org.au) with what events you would like to enter with entry times if you have them and we'll put you in manually.  All Adult/OWM swimmers will be swimming in the 17/over category.

At the end of all the racing, we hold some fun events.  You will have the opportunity to enter these events via a sign-up sheets on the day.

Junior/Senior relay and Parent/Child relay........This is a 2X25m relay.  (you only need to swim 1/2 the length of the pool.)

Junior/Senior is one swimmer 12/under and one 13/over.  You nominate a time you think you will finish in and the closest pair to their time wins - This is not a race and has a bit more strategy!

The Parent/Child is the same thing.  2X 25m and closest to your nominated time wins.  We will hold enough heats of the parent/child relay to accommodate those parents with multiple kids.  You may just get to swim 2 or 3 times.....If your parent can't swim or doesn't want to, uncles, aunties, grandparents are all welcome.

Over the years, a few coaches have even jumped in (but ineligible to win the event.)  Juniors - these will be plenty of seniors happy to partner you in the Junior/Senior relay on the day, so you don't need to partner-up beforehand (unless you want to).  Most Seniors will be happy to swim multiple times if the numbers don't quite work.

Dash4cash is basically the same- $5 entry (cash on the day only)  Nominate the time you think you will swim a 50m freestyle sprint, and the closest to their time wins the cash!  The more entrants, the more cash is in the prize pool.

The winner of the Dash4Cash and the novelty relays will be announced at Presentation night on 14th June.

Stay tuned for the Event flyer next week! Entries will be open in Swim Central shortly.

**Save the Date** The annual RSC Presentation Night will be held on Saturday, June 14th. Be sure to add this to your calendar as this is one you won't want to miss! Stay tuned for more information!
