Reconciliation Week

Reconciliation Week - 27 May - 3 June

Next week is National Reconciliation Week, a reminder for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation together.

Part of reconciliation is acknowledging the past mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. National Sorry Day, on the 26th of May, is a day to acknowledge the strength of Stolen Generations survivors and reflect on how we can all assist in healing.

Sorry Day Assembly

Monday 27th May at 9am, TPS will hold a Sorry Day assembly. Community is invited to attend.

Now More Than Ever

The National Reconciliation Week theme for 2024, Now More Than Ever, is a reminder that the fight for justice and the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people will - and must - continue.

Our Reconciliation Week Display

At times reconciliation can feel hard and the barriers great, which iswhy we are inviting  TPS community members to take a moment to think about what they can do for reconciliation “Now”. We will have yellow, red and black hands available in the foyer next week and invite you to write down an action you will take this year to help in reconciliation - nothing too small or large - to be displayed throughout Reconciliation Week.
