AFL Girls' Football

Greetings GEC community! The year 7 and 8 girls AFL team went to the Junior interschool sports competition at La Page Park in Cheltenham. Overall, the Glen Eira girls came second after flying past with victories  in  the first two games and then being beaten in the last game against Mentone Girls. We all tried so hard but we unfortunately lost. Even though we only had three short training sessions and some of us had never played AFL before, we all did amazing. Nearly all of us marked the ball and had a kick and handball.  We are so proud of our performance, and we hope to do better next year!

Senior Girls' Netball

On Tuesday 6 May, the senior girls' netball team competed against seven other schools at Dandenong Stadium for district interschool sports. The team demonstrated excellent resilience, sportsmanship, enthusiasm and poise to win all games and progress to the grand final against Mentone. After a hard-fought match, Glen Eira won by four goals (13 to 17) and will represent the Beachside area at regionals in July. Go girls!
