Year 8 Food Technology
In a recent Food Technology class, the 8E students engaged in a practical lesson by crafting individual Shepherd's pies. Through hands-on experience, students learned fundamental cooking skills as they followed the recipe step by step. This activity not only enhanced their culinary knowledge but also encouraged collaboration and individual creativity as students personalized their pies. The pride of accomplishment was evident as students showcased their culinary creations, reflecting their growing skills and appreciation for the art of cooking.

The laser cutter has been a significant addition to the Technology area this year. Both the Year 9 Design Technology and the Year 10 Product Design classes have been taking full advantage of it. The focus in the Year 9 class has been more on the use of the instrument to cut, assemble and finish a product. In Year 10 the students have been more involved in the design process either starting from scratch or redesigning an existing piece to suit their purposes. It has been a challenge, at times, to get the measurement and cutting parameters just right, but the results have been quite impressive. In both classes the students have developed an appreciation for the beauty of wood and what can be done with it. Scroll through the images to see some of the projects that the students have completed or are working on.
