Bonjour Parents and Students!
Just like that it is week 6 in term two for our students here at Tarneit Rise Primary School.
We continue to progress, and students are eager to learn, practice and to explore additional French.
Prep students were assessed during week 5 and in week 6 they learned about family members in French. They practiced French educational songs together https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFk9YmJv-jc, which is their favourite part. They also enjoyed drawing and colouring a picture of their family member that matches the French word of their family members worksheet.
Grade 1 students have been doing verbal assessment with their French teacher in week 5 and 6. They showcased their knowledge in numbers, animals, colours and classroom objects.
Grade 2 students, during week 5 were assessed on their knowledge of French vocabulary including family members, emotions, colours and wild animals. In week 6, they extended the use of J’aime (I like) to make statements about what activities they like to do with their family members in French.
Our grade 3 students during week 5 were assessed on their knowledge of French including vowel combination sounds, ER verbs and weathers. In week 6, students extended their knowledge on French sounds by pronouncing common French word endings. It’s like learning French sound pack for them!
Grade 4 students during week 5 were assessed on their knowledge of French including names of food, use of partitive articles, emotions and ER verbs conjugation. In week 6, they learned about Australia as a multilingual country and reflect on their own experience with the French language.
Our grade 5 and 6 students were assessed on their knowledge of French including making negative sentences, conjugating RE verbs, and formulating Yes or No questions. In week 6 they started learning about different sounds in French which will help them in pronouncing new words in their future French study.
