MRC 2024 Production - Moana Junior

Throughout the course of Week 5, we saw over 100 students from Years 7 through to 12 audition to be in the 2024 MRC Production, Moana Junior.

This process consisted of initial auditions on the Monday, dance callbacks on Tuesday with our specialist Polynesian dance choreographer and then lead callbacks on Friday evening with our director and producer.

Throughout the entire process, all students demonstrated an amazing attitude and positivity towards the audition process, often encouraging others throughout their auditions (which was a nerve-wracking process for many) - which lead the theatre company to comment on their amazing talent and ability as a whole.

On the following Monday, we announced the cast. Over 40 students successfully earned a place in the upcoming production.

Year 12 Legal Studies VCAT Excursion

Over the period of two days in Week 4, our Year 12 Legal Studies students attended The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal so as to obtain first-hand experience of the legal processes involving the resolution of civil disputes. Students then had a chance to complete a scavenger hunt where they were able to explore the court precinct and meet various legal personnel. The excursion enhanced the current educational program where students investigate the Victorian civil justice system and understand the institutions that are in place to resolve civil disputes.

Our Year 12 students represented our College in a positive manner, with wonderful feedback from the wider community.

“Yesterday as I travelled by train to my son’s house at Pascoe Vale. I encountered a group of your students returning from an excursion and I wished to pass on to you that they are a credit to your school. I joined the train at North Melbourne and the group at the door quickly moved aside to allow me on. Two of the girls leapt up to give me a seat ( I am old but not yet too decrepit!) Then the girl who was sitting beside me and I began a conversation with which her friend also seemed to engage. I was impressed that they bothered to be interested in my life and things I’d done comparing with me some of the changes over the years. They were delightful company and I wish you and all those involved with your school well.”

Year 12 Business Management - Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery Excursion

In a recent trip to Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery, Unit 3 Outcome 3 (Operations Management), students delved into the world of business, specifically focusing on the core objective of producing goods and services.

The visit provided valuable firsthand experience in understanding how businesses effectively manage the process of transforming inputs into outputs. Students explored the significance of this process for a business's success, emphasising both efficiency and effectiveness in production. Through interactive activities and demonstrations, students gained insights into how a Victorian business optimises resource allocation to produce high-quality goods and services. This exploration considered responsible practices alongside the challenges of a competitive global market.

The Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery trip offered a unique learning experience, allowing students to connect classroom concepts with real-world business operations..
