Year 9 Update

Hard Work and Healthy Habits

As we approach the end of the semester, our Year 9 students are showing incredible dedication and resilience as they are working tirelessly to complete their final CATs of the Term.

In addition to their academic efforts, our students are also participating in the final rounds of GSV sports. Their enthusiasm and team spirit have been remarkable, and we are proud of their achievements and sportsmanship. Whether on the field or in the classroom, Year 9 students continue to excel and make us proud.

With the winter weather now upon us, it's essential to focus on maintaining healthy habits to ensure students stay in top form. Here are a few key tips to support wellbeing:

  • Exercise Regularly: try to stay active, even if it's just a short walk or a quick workout at home. Regular physical activity boosts immunity and enhances overall health.
  • Get Enough Sleep: Adequate rest is crucial for both physical and mental health. Ensure you are getting the recommended 8-10 hours of sleep each night to stay refreshed and focused.
  • Eat Nutritionally Rich Foods: A balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains helps support the immune system. Healthy eating habits keep energy levels high and minds sharp.

In our most recent Chapel session headed by Mrs Juers, the Year 9 students also discussed their mobile phone use, as well as ways in which technology can isolate us. It is important to take breaks every now and then and embrace opportunities to connect with our friends and family in-person.

Ultimately, whether we talk about academic, sports or healthy habits, it is about finding a balance. Good luck in these last weeks of Term, girls!
