Albanvale Athletics Carnival
The Olympics may be two months away, but all eyes were on the Keilor Little Athletics Track where the biggest day in athletics for 2024 was taking place.
The sun was shining (some might have even described the weather as warm!) as the whole of Albanvale Primary School boarded the bus for a day of competition Peter Bol would have been envious of!
Our amazing students exemplified the Olympics motto of Faster, Higher, Stronger. But do the Olympics have loudest cheering? What about best dressed? And best dancer? I think not!
The Prep to Year 2 classes took part in running races, throwing competitions and, of course, the sack race, while the Year 3 to Year 6s showed off their talents at high jump, long jump, discus, running and more. The day finished up with the year level relay races where working out who was more competitive, the teachers or students, was the real challenge.
Seeing the amazing respect everyone showed to their fellow classmates and competitors shows the true Albanvale spirit. A huge thank you to the students at Victoria University High School and Mr Valentine for putting together such a fun day for the school to celebrate together.
Stay tuned for the next edition of the newsletter with on the ground reports from our students.
