Prayer

The Feast of the Annunciation

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee;

blessed are thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Ash Wednesday Mass

Bishop Mark Edwards OMI celebrated our opening Mass on the 5th March, which also coincided with Ash Wednesday. The SRC assisted during the Mass and music was directed by David Chaston.

The Church celebrates Ash Wednesday as a starting point of Lent, some 40 days of preparation, not including Sundays, leading up to Jesus’ sacrificial act of dying on the cross on Good Friday and ultimate victory over sin and death - Easter Sunday.

We launched Caritas Project Compassion as our Lenten almsgiving and hope to raise enough funds to purchase a water tank for a Samoan school. Michael McGirr and Michelle Fernon both helped us to raise awareness of this non-profit Catholic organisation.

We are piloting Alpha Youth 2025 program which is invitational and available to all students at Kildare. This youth program is designed with young people in mind and aims to answer various questions about our purpose and the role of Christianity in our lives.

Deacon John was ordained as Priest, now Fr John Baptist, from St Michael’s Cathedral Parish is continuing his Friday visits to pray with us before the Blessed Sacrament during lunchtime at 1:40pm in Mt Erin Chapel.

Blessed Carlo Acutis said:

“The Sacrament of the Eucharist: My Highway to Heaven.”
