Principal Message

In the fourth week of Lent it is important that we reflect upon the purpose of Lent as we progress towards the high point of the liturgical Calendar, Easter Sunday with the Resurrection of Jesus following His death on the Cross on Good Friday.
“Lent is a 40-day season commencing on Ash Wednesday and ending at sundown on Holy Thursday. During this season Catholics are called to enter more deeply into the mystery of Jesus’ suffering, death and Resurrection at Easter.
The season of Lent offers Catholics an opportunity to reflect on where they have failed to love God, their neighbour and themselves and to seek ways to heal what is broken. Alongside this reflection on how they are living their lives, Catholics commit more fully to prayer, fasting and almsgiving. “ (ACBC)
We have had two assemblies focusing on Caritas and Project Compassion with guest speakers Michelle Fernon and Michael McGirr encouraging our young people to place others at their centre and through a donation of $5 each through Lent we can reach the target set by our SRC of at least $4000, which will pay for a village water supply in Samoa.
The term and year continue to fly by. You would have seen in our Facebook feed that we had a very successful Open Night with 600 people through the college, reflective of the significant interest in what we are doing as a catholic college here in Wagga Wagga. Our enrolments for 2026 close at the end of the month on 31st March. A couple of important reminders:
Please submit all of the requested paperwork with your application for it to progress
Younger children of existing families, siblings, also require an application submitted by next Monday.

It is timely to bring to everyone’s attention this policy from CEDWW
Working in Partnership with Parents and Families which discusses how we’d like to work with our community. That can be very difficult to do well when some use a phone call to speak aggressively and abuse staff verbally which is never appropriate. This has occurred recently. I have directed staff to end any phone call / meeting where this occurs. We value respect deeply and ask everyone to manage their energy appropriately in any interactions.
God Bless
