Teaching and Learning

Over the last week our Year 3 and Year 5 students have participated in NAPLAN testing.  Students were involved in four tests.  Those being, Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy.

The testing sessions went smoothly, and we thank staff, parents and carers for your efforts to ensure that students were well prepared.

Throughout the remainder of this week, we will run catch up sessions for students who were absent for any of their tests.

ACARA has indicated that parents and carers are likely to receive their child’s Individual Student Report at the start of Term 3. ACARA is expecting to publish the National Results in late July/early August 2025.  We will keep you informed of any changes to this timeline.

PLANNING WEEK

As is our routine towards the end of every term, classroom and specialist teachers are provided with a planning day with their teams to review student data and plan for next term’s student learning.

In order to do this, it means a slight change in the timetable for all students across the school at some stage in the final week of term. On these days students participate in a whole day of specialist classes whilst their usual classroom teacher/s is released to plan.

Please take note of the planning days below for each year level and remind your child/ren to bring their PE shoes on this day please.

  • Monday March 31st- Year 1 and Year 2
  • Tuesday April 1st- Prep (*please note, this is also Cross Country Day)
  • Wednesday April 2nd- Year 5/6
  • Thursday April 3rd- Year 3 and Year 4

The Victorian Premiers’ Reading challenge has kicked off once again for this year and is celebrating 20 years this year.
