Congratulations to Ava
A huge congratulations to Ava from 5A, who has been selected to join the Victorian Junior Basketball Squad! This is an incredible achievement, as Vic Junior represents the highest standard of junior basketball.
Ava has also been invited by the Association's Director of Coaching to participate in a specialised program in July, marking the beginning of what could be her elite player pathway. Well done, Ava!
Grade 6 Marysville Camp
Camp Day 1: A Fun-Filled Start!
The first day of camp was a fantastic start, with students diving into a range of exciting activities. They had a blast building catapults, making their own pizzas, and strengthening their teamwork skills through interactive challenges. The adventure continued as they explored bush survival techniques, learning essential skills to navigate and thrive in the outdoors.
Camp Day 2: Adventure and Discovery!
Day 2 of camp was packed with excitement as students embraced new challenges and experiences. They tackled the high ropes course, pushing themselves to climb, balance, and conquer their fears. Teamwork was key during canoeing, as students worked together to navigate the water.
In the afternoon, they visited Marysville, where they explored the Fire Museum and learned about the town’s history and resilience.
Students came away from camp with invaluable life skills and unforgettable memories!
Grades 5 and 6 Explore Belgian Cuisine in French!
This year, the French program for Grades 5 and 6 students at Toorak Primary School is diving into an exciting competition! AFTV (the Association of French Teachers in Victoria) has assigned our school to explore the delicious and diverse cuisine of Belgium, a French-speaking country. Students will have the opportunity to research and create videos about their favorite Belgian dishes – all in French!
The project offers two great options: students can work in groups of up to four or individually. These videos will showcase not only their creativity but also their French language skills, as they present their chosen dish to the class (and possibly the wider community!) in a fun, informative way.
To make things even more exciting, two of the best videos will be selected to represent our school in the AFTV video competition. If their video wins, it will be featured on AFTV's and French Embassy’s social media to promote the Bastille Day festival in July!
We can’t wait to see what tasty and informative creations our students will come up with. Bon appétit and bonne chance!
