Happy Holi

Happy Holi to all our families who celebrated the festival of colours last weekend.

Celebrating Our Grade 3 & 5 Students – NAPLAN Success!

We are incredibly proud of our Grade 3 and 5 students who participated in the NAPLAN assessments over the past week. Their resilience, persistence, and commitment to doing their personal best have truly shone through.

A huge thank you also goes to our families for the support and encouragement you have provided in preparing your children. Your role in fostering a positive mindset and readiness for these assessments has been invaluable.

Well done to all – your hard work and determination are truly commendable! 🎉

In our classrooms…

The best part of my role is being able to see a range of classrooms in action each week and after many years of being in schools, I continue to sit in classrooms and to learn from our amazing teachers. This week I was visited by a group of year 3 students who came to share their creative sentence expansion tasks. They were all very proud to share their learning about how they used adverbs in their writing to describe the verb. This scaffolded approach to teaching writing ensures that students can develop an in-depth understanding of the key components of sentence structure.

Over the past 5 weeks a group of 5 staff including myself have been undertaking the Sounds Write professional learning so that we are accredited to deliver the program with fidelity.  You may have noticed that your child’ s teacher may have not been in class on some days, this is where they have been, undertaking about 8-10 hours of training each week.  At TPS we invest heavily in teacher professional learning so that staff have the right tools and skills to deliver the highest possible practice.
