Luke 13:1-9
Jesus preaches a lesson on repentance.
What does it mean for us to ‘repent’ in a practical, daily sense?
Are there areas in our lives where we need to turn back to God? What steps can we take to do so?
Catholic Education Week is an opportunity for all Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Melbourne to celebrate their Catholic identity, the pivotal role they play within their local community and the strength of the sector.
This year’s theme draws from the motto of the Holy Year, the Year of Jubilee, and the Australian Catholic Youth Festival’s theme – ‘Pilgrims of Hope’.
We start each day with a prayer.
We participate in Parish/ Class Masses.
Staff gather together to pray.
We have a Prayer Box that we encourage students to take home to share with families.
The idea is to gather as a family around a prayer space and pray. Your child can set up the prayer space using what is in the Prayer Box or any other items you may have at home. These may include a photograph of someone who you wish to pray for or special items that have significance to your family, such as incense sticks, flowers, etc. We would love for you to share your prayer spaces at home, including other faiths such as Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, etc…
We try to fast from negative behaviours like complaining, gossiping or arguing.
Acts of Kindness & Food Drive Initiative
As part of our Food Drive for Vinnies, we invite students to earn non-perishable food items through acts of kindness to bring Hope to others.
We kindly ask families to donate two non-perishable food items, such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and breakfast cereals. These donations will go directly to Vinnies to help those in our community who need it most.
By choosing kindness in our daily lives, we become beacons of hope, bringing God’s love into the world. Being a pilgrim of hope doesn’t require a long journey—it starts with small, meaningful actions every day.
Thank you for your support in making this a meaningful experience for our students. Together, we can help create a brighter, kinder world! Finally, Supporting Caritas:
Collecting money to support the less fortunate.
At St Peter's, we are fortunate to have a Church across the road. Taking our students to Mass, helps them grow in faith, experience God's presence, and deepen their understanding of Catholic teachings.
Loving and merciful God,
We thank You for Your endless love and forgiveness.
As these children prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation,
fill their hearts with peace and courage.
Help them to recognize Your love and mercy, to be honest in their hearts,
and to seek forgiveness with sincerity.
May they grow in their understanding of Your grace, learning to love and forgive others as You forgive us.
Bless their families, teachers, and all who guide them on this journey.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
What makes St Peter's so great?
The former staff still want to come back and visit !
Celebrating Ms Trish's 25 years in Catholic education is important because it acknowledges her dedication, faith, and service to the mission of Catholic schools.
Blessings!
