Literacy

In SpellEx we have been doing the long /e/ and long /a/ sounds in words. We also learned some tricky words. 

In novel study we have been doing new vocab. We learned all about the words:

• heroic - being brave and fearless
• inhabit - to live or be present in
• determined - having a lot of motivation and deciding to do something

And finally, we have been writing our own story. We planned and wrote the action and the problem. The action is what leads up to the big problem of the story. We made sure we added tier 2 and 3 words to make our writing more interesting!

Maths

We're learning about time at the moment. We have been doing duration means how long an activity takes. We have been using seconds, minutes, days, weeks and months. We have been looking at daily schedules and how much time and activity takes, and also the breaks in between. We have used AM and PM to understand times and some of us also experimented with 24hr times!

Inquiry

We have continued to learn about world cultures. We chose a country or culture and we started to research using computers. We took notes about festivals and celebrations, food, music, art and clothing and beliefs and traditions. Now that we have written all the facts, we are starting to put them on Google Slides so we can present them.

Wellbeing

In Wellbeing, we have been learning about Empathy, Emotions, and Character Strengths.

Empathy is when you put yourself in another person's shoes. Emotions are feelings inside our brain they help us show our emotions and sometimes they just visit us. Character strengths are all the things we know that we are good at.
