From the Year 2 Classroom

It's hard to believe there is only one more week of school left before the Easter holidays!!!

The Year 2's have been busy working across all areas.

In Literacy we have been learning about suffixes, noun groups, verbs, predictions and reading fluently.

In writing the children have written some fantastic persuasive pieces about which pet is the best and which season should be the favourite.  This week they are publishing these pieces and sharing with the class.

In Maths we have been looking at adding and subtraction strategies using partitioning , tens frames and number lines.

In Inquiry this week we will be focussing on Internet safety- rules around iPads, computers, internet games and more.

Last week the students celebrated St. Patricks day by wearing a splash of green and also wore colourful, bright or odd socks to raise awareness for children with down syndrome.

The Year 2's also attended the community Mass on Friday. They were amazing and should be very proud of the way they represented Sacred Heart.

The children have been loving Library lessons where they have been discovering, exploring and making.

Next week there will be some Easter activities and getting ready for the school holidays.

There is a pupil free day next Wednesday 2nd April.

Reminders to bring Library books in before the end of term and to keep changing readers if you need some for home.
