St Mary of the Angels Parish runs the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist (First Holy Communion) yearly, with the Sacrament of Confirmation being a biannual event (2025).
It is imperative that we gather our enrolments of Candidates ASAP.
Although heavily supported by the school for St Mary of the Angel students, Sacraments are a Church activity and we stress the importance of students and parent/carers attending all Catechesis meetings with Father O'Shea (St Mary of the Angels students receive their Sacramental lessons in RE Lessons at school, parents will still be required to attend an information meeting).
If you know of families outside of our school community who have children to complete their Sacraments please forward them the link for this form or ask them to contact our school.
Please note:
Enrolment for our Sacraments are also dependent on students being able to produce their Baptismal Certificates and checks of parish records by Father O'Shea.
Further information regarding the dates for mass and meeting attendance will follow to interested participants.
At this stage:
Sacrament of Reconciliation: TBC Wednesday 11th June 2024
Sacrament of Holy Communion/First Eucharist: TBC Sunday 22rd June 2025 9:00 am Mass
Sacrament of Confirmation: Date is to be confirmed: Father O'Shea is presiding, 15th June, however, this depends on the new Bishop and if he delegates this role to Priests.
If you are wanting your child to continue their faith journey, please complete the form HERE... note: a new form is required for each child.
Our learning spaces and front office have Project Compassion Boxes. This box is for 'Giving' during Lent. It will support Caritas Australia in relief programs with marginalised communities around the world. If you would like your on box for home, please contact the front office. All monies "given" should be returned to the front office on a fortnightly basis for donation.
Project Compassion Lenten Prayer
God of our journey
we are all pilgrims of hope
brought together by your love
and your wish that we may all be one.
We pray that in this Year of Jubilee
when we are called to greater justice
and care for our common home
that we may Unite Against Poverty.
May we work in unity for the freedom of the oppressed
and the renewal of creation.
May our compassionate minds and generous hearts
help bring about a world where all can live in peace.
May our Lenten pilgrimage of fasting, almsgiving and prayer
bring us closer to your loving heart.
We ask this in the name of Jesus.
The Holy Father has announced that 2025 will be a Jubilee Year, something which happens every 25 years. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope,”
Pope Francis is inviting Catholics worldwide to renew their faith and embrace a journey of spiritual renewal, unity, and service. A Jubilee Year is a special time of grace, marking an opportunity for deeper prayer, reconciliation, and acts of love and mercy. As a school community, we are called to reflect on how we can be pilgrims of hope - bringing kindness, peace, and faith into our daily lives. Throughout the year, we will explore ways to grow in hope, walk together in faith, and respond to God’s call to love one another. Let us embark on this jubilee year with open hearts, seeking to make a positive difference in our school, our homes and the wider community. As an added step, our Diocese will be having their own pilgrimage of the mini Cathedral around our parishes and schools will be involved in the education and celebration side. We are looking forward to sharing more with you later in the year.
