This year we have successfully enrolled our students in VET courses taking up 95 places within the Northern Melbourne Vet Cluster host schools.
Our students are studying the following certificate II or III VET courses this year:
Many of our students are traveling to be able to attend a host school for their courses that are not so close to home. Our students are attending host schools like:
Our students are settling in well in their courses and are almost a third of the way through the VET year. It is really lovely to see how keen and motivated our students are to do well in their courses to be able to cement a great career pathway once they are completed. Many of our year 12 students are completing two years of VET in one year so that they can achieve an additional full certificate at the end of their senior studies.
Congratulations to Nathaniel Slode who was awarded the ONTTC Student of the Week for his work in his Building and Construction class and to Laoura Kanavos who was also awarded the ONTTC Student of the Week for her work in her Automotive course.
This award highlights the effort and commitment the recipient has put in over multiple weeks. They consistently follow ONTTC’s values of attending with a positive mindset towards Integrity, Growth and Excellence. They also displayed their underlying values of skill development, respect, teamwork, accountability, and safety. All these values contribute to ONTTC’s end goal of preparing students with Employability skills which will best prepare them for the workplace.
Congratulations Laoura and Nathaniel

Bike Ride
Our class went on a bike excursion along the Edgar's Creek Trail. We had a 30 minute stop off in the morning for a bite to eat and drink, then continued our way down the trail. The ride was just over 20km and we returned back to school at lunch time. The students loved getting out and about and enjoyed the freshly serviced bikes. Was all in all a great experience.
MCG Tour
The 1st Year class went on an excursion to the MCG. We walked to Lalor station then got off at Jolimont. Had morning tea on the grass before heading over to the 'G'. After it was finished, we had a quick lunch before students were dismissed. Overall it was a great day.
VET Health Services Assistance
- Stephanie Gesovski
I’m excited to share that our Health Services Assistance students recently enjoyed a hands on excursion to the RSPCA, where they had the chance to interact with animals and learn about animal care and health services careers.
Students brushed goats, fed chickens and visited the animals that are currently up for adoption. They also learned about various career paths in animal health, including roles like vet nursing and animal welfare officers, inspiring them to consider how they can combine their passion for health with a career working with animals.
A big thank you to the RSPCA for hosting us and offering such an enriching experience. It was a day full of learning, inspiration, and new possibilities for our students' future careers.
