Year 6 with Hayley and Mel
Living Portraits
"Hi, I'm Sunni, and I'm Andy and we will be telling you about our very unique self-portraits.
They aren't your average self-portraits. They are actually made of growing things, such as leaves, flowers, fruit and veggies, which you can find in the Fairy Garden at school.
Our artworks are inspired by a Renaissance artist who like to paint portraits using different household items.
Students also shared how they had come together to create their Perfect School Day.
"Hello, my name is Arthur and I'm Chevi. Today we would like to talk about our: Perfect School Day. We decided to do this because school does not suit everyone, so we made a school day that does. We discussed this during a group circle time and then rated each idea on a scale of 1-10, the majority being a 7. We are trying to make school suitable for everybody
From this discussion, on Wednesdays we have started an 'Independance Day,' where we get a list of tasks and we can choose what order to do them in. It's a fun day for everyone, encouraging freedom, while also practising skills for high school.
