Principal Update

St Francis, Nathalia is a child safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.

An update from our Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians, Carers, Staff, Students and Friends of St Francis,

Next Monday, March 17 is the Feast of St Patrick, more commonly known as St Patrick’s Day. St Patrick was and still is the foremost patron Saint of Ireland. Many of the early FMDM’s sisters who served our school community were of Irish decent and St Patrick’s Day will always be a day of celebration. Please reflect on St Patrick’s Day via the following Prayer of St Patrick

I arise today:

Through God’s strength to pilot me,

God’s might to uphold me,

God’s wisdom to guide me,

God’s eye to look before me,

God’s ear to hear me,

God’s word to speak for me,

God’s hand to guard me,

God’s way to lie before me,

God’s shield to protect me,

God’s hosts to save me

Afar and a near,

Alone or in a multitude.

Christ shield me today

Against wounding

Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me,

Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me,

Christ on my right, Christ on my left,

Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down,

Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,

Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,

Christ in the eye that sees me,

Christ in the ear that hears me.

I arise today

Monday, we will be celebrating St Patrick’s Day as a community event to honor the day but also raise some much-needed funds for Caritas Australia via Project Compassion. We encourage everybody to come to school next Monday dressed in green or a tinge of green. Throughout the day we will have a fashion parade and enjoy some green cordial at recess time. If possible, please send your child with a gold coin donation to support Project Compassion.

Today our Grades 3 and 4 staff and students are returning from their annual camp to Murray Life Adventures, Torumbarry. The students were very keen and excited before the camp, and I am sure they would have had a wonderful time. Albeit tired and exhausted.  In the next edition of the newsletter, we will have plenty of stories and photos to share from their experiences.

With Peace and goodwill,

Matt Carver

Principal
