ROAD SAFETY - CROSSING THE ROAD
Unfortunately, recently we have had a couple of reports to the school about Infants children walking across the highway (Church St) to the Church St gates unescorted. In the interests of keeping all our children safe please do not send them across the road unescorted - please escort them across or take them down to the designated crossing - Church St (traffic light crossing) or Meade St (supervised pedestrian crossing).
Talk to your children about using Stop! Look! Listen! Think! every time they cross the road.
St. Joseph’s School - Road Safety REMINDERS:
When picking up or dropping your children of:
* Church St: (Infant side of the school) if parked on the Western side, please either walk and escort your child across the Highway or take them to the designated traffic light crossing.
* Meade St (Primary side of the school) if parked on the Southern side, please come across to pick your child up and walk them across the road - DO NOT CALL THEM ACROSS. If called across the teachers will direct the students to walk down to the supervised crossing.
For safety reasons WE SHOULD ALL USE THE SUPERVISED or DESIGNATED CROSSINGS AT ALL TIMES.
LET’S KEEP OUR STUDENTS SAFE
