Principal's Report

Thoughts from our Principal - Mr Geoff McManus

Dear Parents, Carers and Community Members,

Growing Stronger Connections with Families, Parish, and Community

At St Joseph’s, we are deeply committed to fostering a Christ-centred, inclusive learning community, where strong connections between families, parish, and the wider community enrich the learning and faith experiences of our students. This commitment is at the heart of our Annual Improvement Plan, and we are blessed to see it come to life through the many wonderful events that bring us together in faith, culture, and celebration.

This week alone, we have witnessed this in action through a number of special occasions:

  • St Patrick’s Parish Multicultural Sunday & St Patrick’s Mass – A joyful celebration of our multicultural parish, filled with faith, community spirit, and a hint of green!
  • St Joseph’s Day – A truly special day where we gathered as a school and parish community for Mass, the blessing of our new multipurpose courts and Gaga Pit, and a picnic lunch shared with students, staff, families, and parishioners.
  • Little Joey’s School Readiness Program – Teddy Bear’s Picnic – A heartwarming opportunity to welcome families into our school, fostering connections and introducing them to the warm, supportive environment of St Joseph’s.
  • Harmony Day Celebrations – Our students proudly participated in community celebrations, with K-2 students performing locally and Years 3-6 attending an inspirational performance by Julee-anne Bell, a blind singer who rose to stardom on The Voice in 2021, accompanied by pianist Melissa Buchholz. Julee-anne shared her powerful story of resilience, overcoming obstacles, and advocating for inclusivity, delivering an uplifting message about mental health and perseverance.
  • P&F Golf Day – This Sunday – A fantastic opportunity for families, staff, and the wider community to come together for a fun-filled day of golf and camaraderie. We encourage everyone to join in, whether you’re a seasoned golfer or just there to enjoy the day and support our school.

These moments are a testament to the strong bonds we continue to build as a faith-filled community. Thank you to our dedicated staff, families, and parishioners for your invaluable contributions in making these connections stronger. Your involvement enriches the lives of our young people and strengthens our collective mission.

As we move forward, we look forward to continuing to grow together in faith, learning, and community.

May God bless you and your family.
