Principal's Message

Welcome to Week 2 of Term 2 at Leongatha Primary School!

Dear Families

We’ve had a positive start to Term 2 at Leongatha Primary School, with students settling back into routines and engaging well in their learning. Week 2 brings some exciting opportunities across the school.

On Tuesday 28 April, our Prep students will take part in their Autumn Walk. This is a valuable hands-on learning experience where students will explore seasonal changes in their local environment. Through observation and discussion, they will build their understanding of how autumn impacts the natural world, linking directly to their inquiry and literacy learning in the classroom.

On Wednesday 29 April, our Grade 1 students will participate in their much-anticipated Moonlight Excursion. This experience supports their learning around day and night, light sources, and the night sky. It’s always a highlight, giving students the chance to apply their knowledge in a real-world context while building independence and confidence.

Looking ahead to Friday 1 May, our Grade 6 Winter Support Program will commence. This program is designed to support students’ wellbeing, teamwork, and readiness for the cooler months, ensuring they are well-prepared to continue their learning journey throughout Term 2.

We look forward to another engaging week of learning and thank our families for their ongoing support.

Best Regards

Warwick
