The Staff vs Student downball match was a closely contested and energetic game, with teachers ultimately securing a 35-30 victory and extending their lead to 3–0 in the Staff vs Student Cup. Key staff members including Mr Cole, Mr Longer, Ms Day, Mr Sheehan and Mr Cusack made strong appearances, bringing both skill and competitive spirit to the court. A special shout out to Ms Day who held her ground throughout the whole match, leading the teachers to victory. Credit to the students, who kept it intense the whole game and didn’t let the staff run away with it. Even though it’s another loss, it’s not the end of it. If anything, it’s just given the students more motivation heading into the next events, and there’s a real sense that they’re ready to come back stronger.
On ANZAC Day, members of the year 12 leadership team attended the dawn service at the Ringwood Clock Tower, joined by members of the local community to honour those who have served. The ceremony provided a quiet and respectful space for reflection, as students observed the traditions that mark this important day. Our four school captains laid a wreath on behalf of the school; this simple but meaningful act represented our shared gratitude and remembrance for the sacrifices made by servicemen and women. Attending the service encouraged students to think more deeply about the ANZAC spirit. It is often described as something passed down through generations, but the experience showed that it is not something we simply inherit. Rather, it is shaped by our own choices, values, and character. We commend the students who attended, both in and out of uniform, for representing the school with respect and maturity, and for taking the time to reflect on the significance of ANZAC Day. Lest we forget.
The school Athletics Carnival was a vibrant and exciting day, filled with both competition and creativity. One of the highlights was the incredible range of dress-ups, with students showing up as everything from Lorax’s and Ninja Turtles to hobby horses and Men in Black. The effort and enthusiasm were clear, and after much excitement, the Ninja Turtles were deservedly voted best dressed. Adding to the fun was the much-anticipated staff vs students' egg and spoon race where the students claimed their first victory of the year finishing with a final score of 3–1 and cementing the moment as a memorable part of the day. To add to our award setting start to the year, we had an overall 94% attendance throughout Year 12, a historically high amount with only 11 students absent.
