Careers News

Over the previous 5 Thursdays, some of our Stage 5 Agriculture students have been participating in the AgTECH program where students have learnt about innovation and technology in the Agriculture industry. Students have used drones, built and coded weather stations and designed SMART farms. This event was offered by a partnership between TAFE and UNE. In the final week, students visited the UNE SMART Farm to tour their facilities and see some of the innovations they learned about in action.

Also earlier this term, 4 of our year 10 students completed a 2 day Allied Health Program at Armidale Hospital. Students toured the Allied Health sectors of the hospital and spent time observing and learning about Allied Health including; Physiotherapy, Mental Health and Radiology.

Stage 5 students are still participating in work experience with many taking the opportunity to spend a week in an industry of interest. This term, we have had students spend time working in many industries including with builders, electricians, plumbers, medical professionals. If you would like to complete work experience, please talk with Mrs Galvin.

Year 10 classes have all completed minimum standard tests for Reading, Writing and Numeracy in their careers lessons. Results for these have been sent to student NESA accounts. If you missed a test and need to complete a catch up session, these will be advertised in the Students notices early in Term 4.
