Celebrating Learning in Term 3

Some epic work has occurred over this term once again, with all grades exploring the social process of writing to inform. This writing process incorporate all sorts of genres including recounts, procedures, information reports, explanations and scientific reports. It also includes a very special set of information gathering skills which students have practiced in Reading and Inquiry.

The 1/2 and 3/4s have also been delving deep into English grammar and exploring parts of speech. They have been transforming sentences from key authors whose picture books (both fiction and non-fiction) they have explored as a class.

Victorian Curriculum 2.0

Over the course of the term, our teachers have been extra busy during PLTs exploring the new curriculum which is being rolled out across Victoria. We have specifically focused on English and Mathematics, as these are the focus areas that need to be implemented by 2025. This semester has been about familiarisation, and as of next year we will be planning, teaching, assessing and reporting against this new curriculum.

As you can imagine, this change comes with a lot of new learning for our teachers, and some re-learning as we navigate our way through another curriculum. You can view the updated Victorian Curriculum 2.0 by clicking the image below.
